Mel Higgins

Mel Higgins lives in Lincolnshire with her husband, two children and two fur babies. She is currently studying for a degree in English Literature and works as a teaching assistant as well as an administrator for her husband’s business.

Mel has always had a love for stories; a trip to the library was always a favourite as a child as well as sinking into a chair and spending days reading. The passion for writing began in secondary school when Mel would make up stories about her friends. Her debut novel took over a decade to be written as life just kept taking over until Mel told herself she had to write it. Now she has the bug and never wants to stop.

When Mel isn’t in her office working on her next romance novel she enjoys long walks in the countryside, spending time with her family, travelling and sipping on lychee martinis.

A Dream Read

Daisy Hollands

This book was a dream to read. Spanning the years from the 50s to the 70s and then a much more recent epilogue, the characters really have the chance to build and grow. As the reader you have time to really get to know Lottie and live through all her life experiences with her. It was to my mind an old-fashioned kind of story, one very much of its time and setting but that isn’t to its detriment. There were highs and lows too, so be ready for your emotions to be all over the place. Definitely recommend this book and this author!

This is the first time I’ve read a book and have been unable to put it down (I ended up finishing it in one night). It’s so beautifully written and has so many turns, it keeps you wanting more. Words can’t express how much I really recommend you read this, you will not regret it. The characters are amazing, the story is outstanding and the book overall left me speechless. I can’t wait to see what comes next but until then, I will enjoy re reading Dear Lottie!
