Carissa Poole Author

Carissa Poole Author at Her DeskCarissa Poole has always had a creative imagination and loves to doodle. She would make up silly stories and illustrate them from a young age. Her first children’s book, “If Only” was a part of her A Level project that was later published. She has continued to write silly stories for friends, painted murals on childrens bedroom walls, takes commissions for artwork, sews, bakes and enjoys anything creative. However she actually prefers to hide behind her work or the book cover.

So she has stepped out of her comfort zone to promote her next book: IT’S JUST NOT OK! This book stemmed from one of her creative ideas, to help children and adults discuss child abuse safely, in view of equipping children with the tools to prevent them being hurt. There is also a website to accompany this book – www.keepkidssafe.website

So if there are any children in your life that you want to protect, join in teaching them when it is ok to say: IT’S JUST NOT OK!

If this helps just one child not to be abused, it will be worthwhile.

It's Just Not Okay by Carissa Poole
If Only by Carissa Poole

Quite charming, upbuilding, amusing to adults too.

(If Only)

Robert

The sentiments of “Sandy”, presented from a childs’ perspective, will amuse and entertain both adults and children. The author-illustrator has created a depiction of a refreshingly pleasant child. Her childlike innocence is charming and enjoyable, and the brief book leaves you wanting more but the conclusion invites further imagination by all readers – which is a great thing for children! Also there’s not too many words, (inviting children to read), but along with the pictures it really draws you in.
